Ano Playa Rosé by Anoskeli Winery: All aroma and freshness
A rosé wine made with 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache Rouge grapes from the slopes of Anoskeli, Chania.
VARIETAL rosé dry wine PGI Crete from privately owned vineyards with low yield per acre (>1,200 kg/acre) in the semi-mountainous village of Anoskeli, 30 km southwest of the city of Chania. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at low controlled temperatures. The result is a wine (13.5% vol.) with an intensely bright pink color, high acidity, and pronounced tears in the glass. It is characterized by intense aromas of strawberry and cherry on the nose, while the finish leaves a fruity aftertaste. Ano Playa Rosé has aging potential of up to three years from each harvest. It is served at 8-10°C and pairs perfectly with pasta with light white or red sauces, risotto, seafood, appetizers, and white meats.
Anoskeli SA was founded in 1985 by the seven siblings of the Mamidakis family and took its name from their birthplace, Anoskeli. Today, the boutique winery produces limited quantities of quality wines that highlight the rich terroir, local varieties, and history of the place.
