Anoskeli Winery celebrates the history of Crete with the red Romeiko grape.

This is a collectible red wine produced in 300 numbered bottles annually from 100% grapes of the traditional native Cretan variety Romeiko. The Solera method is applied in the vinification process, blending five different vintages in order to bring out the harmonious flavors of the variety at low controlled temperatures, while aging takes place in French oak barrels. The result is a wine (14% vol.) with ripe tannins, an amber color with red highlights, medium acidity, and rich tears in the glass. It also has intense aromas of fruits such as plums, quinces, and caramel, while the finish leaves a long smoky and spicy aftertaste. The aging potential of this wine, which was awarded at the Cretan Taste Awards 2021, is up to 10 years from the first harvest. The recommended serving temperature is 15-18°C, and it pairs well with fatty cheeses, sweet and sour sauces, and olive oil-based dishes.
