Red Semi-sweet Wine | PGI Crete (Chania)
500mlANOFEREIA Cabernet Sauvignon is a monovarietal dessert wine made from grapes of the noble French variety Cabernet Sauvignon. The over-ripening of the grapes on the vine achieves an impressive concentration of fruit and a rich body.
Origin
The grapes come from privately owned vineyards with low yields (>1200 kg/acre) located on the hills of Anoskeli, at an altitude of 250 meters. It bears the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Crete.
Winemaking
The cultivation of the vineyards and the winemaking are carried out entirely by our winery under the supervision of our Oenologist, Ioannis Galanis. The harvest is delayed for a month and the grapes are over-ripened on the vine (late harvest) to concentrate their aroma and sugars. A classic red winemaking process is followed at low controlled temperatures (20-25℃).
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it has a deep red color with ruby highlights that fill the glass. On the nose, intoxicating aromas of ripe and dried fruits framed by notes of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, balanced acidity gives harmony, intense fruity sensation, rich dense body and velvety tannins. The balanced sweetness makes it a delicious, elegant dessert wine.
