ANOFERIA Syrah is a monovarietal red wine produced from the international grape variety Syrah, in a New World expression of the variety. Syrah (also known as Shiraz in Australia) has spread widely in Greek vineyards, producing high-quality wines, as it thrives in our warm climate. Our Syrah gives us an elegant, fresh, easy-drinking and fruity red wine that is pleasantly consumed chilled during the summer months.
Origin
The grapes come from vineyards with low yields (>1200 kg/acre) located in the wider area of Anoskeli, at an altitude of 250-350 meters. It bears the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Crete.
Winemaking
The winemaking is carried out entirely by our Winery under the supervision of our Oenologist, Ioannis Galanis. A classic red winemaking process is followed at low controlled temperatures (20-25℃) without aging in oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
In the glass it has a deep red color with ruby highlights. On the nose, expressive aromas of red and black fruits, blackberry, cherry, plum with notes of pepper, cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate, it has velvety tannins, balanced acidity that gives harmony and a well-structured body. The finish reveals a long aftertaste with a slightly spicy sensation of dark chocolate.
