Nestled in the heart of Kolymvari's renowned olive-growing region in Western Crete, Anoskeli is a small village perched at 250m above sea level. Since ancient times, Anoskeli has been characterized by its majestic olive groves, pine trees, and other cultivations. Its fertile soil, the birthplace of the Mamidakis family, provided the perfect setting for the family's agricultural endeavors.

The village's name, "Anoskeli," is derived from the Greek words "ano" (upper) and "skeli" (leg or part), aptly describing its location on an elevated plain. This connection to the land and its elevation is deeply rooted in our identity, reflected not only in the village's name but also in our branding, such as our "ANO PLAYA" wines (meaning "upper hill") and "ANOFERIA" (meaning "aclivity").

Though now home to less than 50 permanent residents, the village has been revitalized thanks to the entrepreneurial activities of the Mamidakis family. What began as a family olive mill, serving the needs of family and friends, blossomed into a thriving business upon the establishment of Anoskeli S.A. in 1985. Forty years later, the village is home to a modern olive mill, a bottling and standardization facility, a boutique winery and cellar, and a specially designed reception area for guests. Over the years, we have expanded our operations to include cultivating our own olive groves and vineyards, producing and bottling our own branded products, engaging in international trade and exports, and offering agronutritional experiences.
